Submission Guidelines
We only accept
Jewish-themed films.
To be considered
for exhibition, submissions must have relevance to Jewish themes,
issues, history, heritage, culture, perspectives of Israel, have Jewish character(s) or to the
mission of LAJFF.
The purpose of
the Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival (LAJFF) is to highlight the
diversity of the Jewish experience through film. With a focus on Jewish
identity, this festival will inform and inspire its audience. By
featuring films that deal with Jewish issues, traditions, challenges and
characters the Festival will deepen Jewish values and encourage new
dialogue within the greater Los Angeles community. The Festival will
showcase an international selection of contemporary features,
documentaries, shorts and animated films.
Just because you
are a Jewish filmmaker or actor, does not necessarily mean that your
film is "Jewish."
We only accept
films for the following categories:
Narrative Feature
Narrative films with Jewish themes or characters including identity,
memoir, spirituality, culture, history, humor and more. We are
seeking films that are appropriate for kids/families as well as
content for mature audiences.
Films should be made after 2005.
Narrative Short
Short films on Jewish themes and characters including, identity,
memoir, spirituality, culture, history, Israel, humor and more. We
are seeking films that are appropriate for kids/families as well as
content for mature audiences. Films after year 2005 please.
Documentary Feature
Feature-length documentary films on Jewish themes or characters
including identity, memoir, Holocaust or history, spirituality,
culture, Israel, etc. Seeking films appropriate for kids/families as
well as content for mature audiences. Films after year 2005 please.

well as content for mature audiences. Films after year 2005 please.
Animated

religion, spirituality, culture, history, Israel, humor, and more.
We are interested in the animated short film as a medium of personal
expression, social commentary, and cultural evolution as well as a
medium for narrative storytelling. Films for kids/families as well
as content for more mature audiences.
Filmmakers may
submit all of their Jewish films with one entry fee - just be sure to
put a note in the envelope indicating that there is more than one film
to review.
